Default Ralph Stricker, The Gentleman of Blackjack

Ronster: Yes, he was one of favorites as well. Lean and mean. Anyway, I cannot respond over at BJTF because I was banned for sticking up for fine gents such as yourself. And standing up to Flash and his brigade of bozo's.

Mr. Stricker had a very straight forward approach and very limited number of indices. In short, he didn't sweat the small stuff.

In regards to the Ill 18 for his count system, I recommend adding 14v10 and dropping 12v5,6. Some of the others cannot be used in that group for your games. Correct? Also, he set the bar very high on 12v4 and 13v2,3 by comparison. My research indicates it's not a big deal in the pitch games.

Try splitting up the 2-7s into groups of 2-4s and 5-7s. This will avoid making bad investments when the deck is rich in A-9s but also rich in 2-4s or 5-7s.

While I trumpet the benefits of the difficult systems that are the "flip side" of his
count I personally know but one person who has counted cards, using his "Silver
Fox" over many years, (with "break-even" results and an aggressive spread
resulting in many back-offs [at his red chip level]). I hold that it is a good system
choice for rank beginners and the innumerate among us who may have less than
an unencumbered attention span or may be worried re: occasionally 'missing cards'.

Moses replies: Norm deleted both posts. What a classic line Bosox. I haven't laughed that hard in a long long time. Thank you my brother.
