If Trump pulls the troops out of Syria then that will be a good thing. Whether he does it or not is another thing.

The troops will be removed when Assad is ousted from power to help fulfill the Oded Yinon plan and the Greater Israel Project. Not until.

WaPo Promotes Endless Illegal US Occupation of Syria
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)
Syria is a sovereign independent state threatening no others.
Yet in March 2011, the Obama administration launched naked aggression on the country, using ISIS and other terrorists as imperial foot soldiers - US-led terror-bombing begun in September 2014.
America's presence in Syria is flagrantly illegal, notably its occupation of northern and southern areas - on the phony pretext of combating ISIS Washington created and supports.
On Sunday, neocon/CIA-connected Washington Post editors called for endless US occupation, leaving Syria a "bad idea," they claimed - ignoring Washington's war of aggression, its rape and destruction of the country, its responsibility for hundreds of thousands of deaths and the gravest refugee crisis since WW II.
Trump's shoot-from-the-hip/off-the-cuff comment about "coming out of Syria very soon" was polar opposite Defense Secretary James Mattis saying US forces are staying - falsely claiming it's "to make sure we set the conditions for a diplomatic solution" Washington rejects.
Endless war continues for regime change, why conflict resolution remains unattainable.
WaPo: "(T)he president's words will surely encourage Russian and Iranian hopes of driving the United States out of the country, so they can entrench their military bases and political influence."
"That would pose a major threat to Israel and severely damage US standing throughout the Middle East."
Fact: Washington came to Syria to stay, endless US occupation continuing in Afghanistan and Iraq as well, maybe Yemen, and escalated involvement in Libya.
Fact: Russia, Iran and Hezbollah support Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity - Moscow in the lead, going all-out for conflict resolution, unattainable because Washington wants war.
Russia and Iran are allied in trying to restore peace and stability to the country, not entrenching their military positions - a US aim, not theirs.
Hezbollah is mainly concerned about preventing conflict spilling cross-border into Lebanon.
WaPo supports all US wars of aggression. So do other media scoundrels - backing what demands condemnation.

If that is the case, it may be a LONG time coming before U.S. troops get withdrawn. We'll see what happens.

Default Drumpf keeping his promise to Israel but lies to everyone else

    sraeli High Crimes Without Punishment
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman
Israel considers Occupied Palestine a free-fire zone, especially in besieged Gaza.
Soldiers on Friday were ordered to shoot to kill or injure defenseless Palestinians - a high crime by any standard.
A bloody Friday followed the week ago massacre - 9 more Gazans killed, over 1,000 others injured, two dozen or more with life-threatening injuries.
In the past 8 days, at least 31 Palestinians were killed, over 6,000 injured, mostly by live fire, the death toll virtually certain to rise - the world community doing nothing to stop the carnage.
IDF spokesman Rone Manelis lied, claiming soldiers thwarted dozens of attempts by Palestinians to enter Israel through the border fence - disgracefully adding they opened fire "in accordance with the rules of engagement."
Nothing justifies attacking nonviolent demonstrators with live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets and toxic tear gas. Israel gets away with murder and much more because the world community sits on its hands and does nothing.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres disgraced himself like earlier, saying "I particularly urge Israel to exercise extreme caution with the use of force in order to avoid casualties."
Arab-Israeli Knesset member Haneen Zoabi demanded accountability "for (Israeli) crimes against Palestinians," adding:
"Popular resistance is the only way that the Palestinians can free themselves" from repressive occupation.
She urged "millions of Palestinians to march to Jerusalem," adding "we cannot do this because the Israelis will kill them."
"I am a Palestinian. I am expected to be loyal to Zionism while the only meaning of Zionism is to deny my rights and to deny my identity."
"…Israel transform(ed) (itself) from a racist situation to a fascist situation."
Like the previous Friday, demonstrators were several hundred meters from Israel's border. IDF snipers killed and wounded Gazans threatening no one in cold blood.
The world's self-styled "most moral army" is the most vicious. Given dire shortages of vital medicines and supplies in Gaza, its health ministry called on the world community to help.
Without it, greater suffering and more deaths are certain. Gaza's health system under siege has inadequate fuel, medicines, supplies and equipment.
It exhausted its supply of over 200 essential medicines. Others are inadequate to treat the sick and wounded.
Without urgently needed world community help, Gaza's healthcare system faces possible collapse, a dire situation gone unaddressed.
For the second time in two weeks, Washington alone blocked a Security Council statement, calling for an independent investigation of carnage in Gaza.
Palestinian ambassador to the UN Riyad Mansour called Washington's veto a "green light (for Israel) to continue (its) onslaught against the civilian population."
On Friday evening, an IDF statement turned truth on its head, saying:
"Rioters have attempted to damage and cross the security fence under the cover of smoke from their burning tires."
"They also attempted to carry out terror attacks and hurl explosive devices and firebombs. Our forces prevented breaches" of the fence.
All of the above is willful disinformation, Israel attempting to justify what's flagrantly unjustifiable and illegal.
Excessive force, brutal repression, and cold-blooded murder are longstanding Israeli policies.
The world community yawns and does nothing - encouraging carnage to continue by inaction.
How many more Palestinians will die under brutal occupation? How many are too many?

Russia Condemns Israeli Violence in Gaza - US Condones It
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)
A statement by Russia's Foreign Ministry said the following:
"We express our sincere condolences to the relatives of the killed Palestinians, wish a quick recovery to those injured at the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel."
"We strongly condemn the indiscriminate use of violence against the civilians."
America condoned what all civilized nations denounced. The US blocked a Security Council statement, calling for an independent investigation into Israeli violence.
All SC member states supported it, Washington alone opposed. America and Israel partner in each other's high crimes, including naked aggression against sovereign independent states, along with longstanding persecution of occupied Palestinians.
On Sunday, PLO Executive Committee member Hanan Ashwari condemned US Security Council obstructionism, accusing Washington of complicity with Israeli brutality, adding:
"The Israeli army used unbridled violence, unleashing more than 100 snipers and firing live ammunition, teargas and rubber-coated steel bullets against the protestors before the very eyes of the entire international community."
"Yet, the UN Security Council failed to agree on a statement condemning the egregious violations that occurred at the hands of Israel."
"It is time for the international system to adopt punitive measures and sanctions against Israel in relation to the occupation."
"Furthermore, the International Criminal Court is called upon to speed up its investigation and to undertake concrete steps in this context."
Ahead of Friday's violence, continuing on Saturday and Sunday with scores more Palestinians wounded by live fire and other IDF violence, Israeli military intelligence-connected DebkaFILE lied, claiming:
"Hamas is sending infiltrators to demonstrate how easy it is to breach the border and enter Israel…(its) two-track strategy for determining when to use the momentum of the 'protest' to send through terrorists for attacks on Israeli communities and Israel border guard posts."
The above remarks are bald-faced lies! Hamas poses no threat to Israel.
It never launched preemptive attacks on its territory, earlier responding to repeated IDF provocations initiated ahead of summer 2014 naked aggression on the Strip.
On Sunday, Ziofascist Israeli defense minister Avigdor Lieberman said Israel won't hold or cooperate with any investigation into IDF use of force against defenseless Gazans - threatening increased violence if demonstrations continue.
He lied claiming "90% of the protesters, and their families, were paid by Hamas."
On Saturday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said 16 Gazans were killed since demonstrations began on Friday, another 1,479 wounded, 805 Gazans shot with live fire, others injured by rubber-coated steel bullets, toxic tear gas, burns, cuts and bruises.
On Sunday from pre-dawn until noon local time, 100 more Palestinians were injured, many from live fire.
On March 31, West Bank and East Jerusalem Palestinians observed a general strike, part of a national day of mourning for massacred Gazans.
Most shops and other businesses observed it. So did schools and universities, suspending classes.
Israeli violence continues unabated. How many more Palestinians die, be wounded, or otherwise brutalized while the world community sits on its hands, doing nothing to stop the carnage.
