Nope not noticed much difference. I might be too early for any changes. There has been talk of security when checking into hotels, metal detectors and possible luggage searches. I don't think that will be well received and probably not implemented. I have read suggestions that guests not be allowed to refuse maid service so housekeeping would have access to rooms to notice anything unusual. I don't think that will fly either.
I wouldn't expect any changes in the casino end. Where I think there has to be some security changes is in security for these outdoor open events, especially locations in the shadow of a highrise hotel. The MGM outdoor event venue across the street from Mandalay bay was only one such venue in Vegas. There is another very similar venue, for concerts and music events on the North strip directly across the street from SLS (former Sahara), and there is a similar, although smaller music event venue, right behind the D, downtown, which has concerts every month on first Friday.
Having security and police on the ground for these events (as they were at the recent shooting) will no loner be enough. They are going to have to have some police sharp shooters on roofs, able to take out a shooter more quickly.
For that matter, it's not just these music venues. While downtown is protected from highrise by the canopy, the entire strip, with a million people walking it at any time is in the shadow of one or another of the highrise hotels. In the wake of this horrific shooting, this really is a security nighmare.
