Britamgate: Staging False Flag Attacks in Syria

On January 22 a telling leak cropped up in the Internet. British defense contractor’s BRITAM server was hacked and megabytes of classified internal files of the firm were released to the public. Now the case is acquiring a Britamgate scale due to the publication on Prison Planet. What is the story behind the leakage? Why this scandal is likely to turn around the situation in Syria?

    VOLTAIRE NETWORK | 4 FEBRUARY 2013

Let’s brief the files. The key finding is a mail dated December 24, 2012 sent by Britam Defence’s Business Development Director David Goulding to Dynamic Director of the firm Phillip Doughty, who is a former SAS officer:

    ‘Nodding like bobbleheads’:
Putin slams NATO’s support for US violation of intl law in Syria

The missile strike on Syria was a clear breach of international law, while Washington’s claim that Damascus carried out the chemical attack that the US used as its casus belli is yet to be proven by any hard evidence, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“What was the reaction of the NATO allies? All of them are nodding like bobble heads,” Putin said in an interview with Mir 24 TV channel.

Washington immediately blamed Assad’s government for the incident, which reportedly killed dozens of civilians, claiming that Damascus had used the airfield to launch the attack. These accusations have not been supported by any conclusive evidence so far, however.

In the meantime, Russia says that Damascus had no reason, strategic interest, or even the physical capability to launch a chemical weapons attack, since its entire arsenal – with the exception of stockpiles on rebel-controlled territory – was destroyed under UN supervision in 2013. Moscow has demanded that a UN team be sent to the area to conduct an impartial investigation.

“Out of 12 facilities used for storing and producing chemical weapons, ten were destroyed, as confirmed by the OPCW experts. The Syrian government has no access to the remaining two facilities, as they are located in territory controlled by the so-called opposition,” the chief of the Russian General Staff’s operations department, Colonel General Sergey Rudskoy, told journalists during a news briefing, adding that it remains unclear if the chemical weapons stored at these two facilities had been destroyed.

On Tuesday, Putin called the attack on Khan Sheikhoun a “false flag” operation aimed at discrediting the Assad government, warning that similar incidents, possibly targeting a Damascus suburb, could occur in the future

“We have reports from multiple sources that false flags like this one – and I cannot call it otherwise – are being prepared in other parts of Syria, including in the southern suburbs of Damascus. They plan to plant some chemical there and accuse the Syrian government of an attack,” he said at a joint press conference with Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Moscow.

Putin also reiterated his call for an official inquiry into the incident in Khan Sheikhoun, saying that the alleged use of chemical weapons demands a proper investigation.

    Here we go ...

MIT professor refutes White House claims on Syria chemical attack

A professor who challenged the 2013 claims of a chemical attack in Syria is now questioning the Trump administration’s narrative blaming the Assad government for the April 4 attack in the Idlib province town of Khan Shaykhun.

On Tuesday, the White House released a declassified intelligence brief accusing Syrian President Bashar Assad of ordering and organizing the attack, in which Syrian planes allegedly dropped chemical ordnance on civilians in the rebel-held town.

The report “contains absolutely no evidence that this attack was the result of a munition being dropped from an aircraft,” wrote Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Professor Theodore Postol, who reviewed it and put together a 14-page assessment, which he provided to RT on Wednesday.

“I believe it can be shown, without doubt, that the document does not provide any evidence whatsoever that the US government has concrete knowledge that the government of Syria was the source of the chemical attack in Khan Shaykhun,
    ” wrote Postol.

A chemical attack with a nerve agent did occur, he said, but the available evidence does not support the US government’s conclusions.

    Default George Galloway opines ...

Former UK MP George Galloway opines ...

“Assad is not mad enough to launch militarily insignificant chemical weapons attacks on an already beaten enemy and, hey presto, bring America directly into the war against him.

“Anyone who says otherwise is either a fool or is trying to fool you,”
    Galloway warned.
Galloway urged readers to ask who would gain from such an attack.

One only has to ask two questions. Why? And who benefits? That there is no conceivable advantage to the Syrian regime is obvious. That there is every conceivable advantage for the ISIS/Al-Qaeda-led rebels is equally obvious,” he said.

“A war which was all but won is now in question again. If the Saudi-inspired fanatics didn’t so disapprove of dancing well, they’d be dancing Gay Gordons and Strathspeys Reels [Scottish dances] in the roads of Raqqa.”

Galloway also warned that the press had not played an even hand in their coverage of the incident, relying on dubious “unofficial sources.”

Referring to US President Donald Trump’s claim that images of suffering children had inspired his U-turn from opposing war in Syria to bombing a regime airbase, Galloway said, “I too have ‘beautiful babies’ Mr. Trump, four of them under 10. I will not see them go quietly into your goodnight.

“Rather I will rage against the dying of the light. And ask as many to rage with me as I can.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has described a poison gas attack blamed on his Government last week as "100 per cent fabrication" used to justify a US air strike.
    Key points:

    • Assad reiterates that Syria gave up all its chemical weapons after a 2013 agreement
    • Turkey, Russia agree to an investigation by chemical weapons watchdog OPWC
    • Mr Assad says only an "impartial" investigations will be allowed
    • UK blames Assad Government for attack

Syria's military had given up all its chemical weapons in 2013 after an agreement made at the time, and would not have used them anyway, Mr Assad was quoted as saying in an interview with news agency AFP.

I wonder if he was referring to social media, back then?

We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality – judiciously, as you will – we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.” – Karl Rove, Oct. 17, 2004
