Default Bob Nersesian: Casino Dragon Slayer

Bob Nersesian is definitely making even more of a name for himself!

Trivia: Lawyers as professionals descended from hired knights, who would go into battle and duels on behalf of their clients. This isn't so different.

WHEN HIGH ROLLERS GET SCREWED OVER BY VEGAS CASINOS, THEY CALL THIS GUY

There's a breed of professional gambler known as advantage players. They employ perfectly legal methods -- counting cards, tracking shuffles, peeking at the hole cards of sloppy dealers, etc. -- to extract piles of money from casinos. And even though they’re breaking no laws, casino bosses despise them. Sometimes they treat these advantage players -- also known as APs -- like cheaters. Security guards handcuff them, not-so-veiled threats are made, their chips are refused. Occasionally the APs will even get thrown in jail.

And then they call Bob Nersesian.

Based in Las Vegas, operating out of a house converted to an office, situated in the shadows of shimmering Strip casinos, Nersesian, 59, is the go-to guy for advantage players who think they have been wronged. He’s taken large casino companies to court, stood up to cops and overly zealous security guards, pressed executives to cash-out winners. While he has no interest in representing cheaters, Nersesian, author of a recently published book entitled The Law for Gamblers: A Legal Guide to the Casino Environment, stands up for brainy and talented players who bring down the house and sometimes burn it to the ground.

All lawyers are officers of the court. Knights only got paid if they won the battle. But lawyers collect regardless the outcome.

The time Nersesian was chastised by the Nevada Supreme Court ...
.... on appeal of the Imperial Palace/Grosjean ruling* -

But in overturning the punitive damage award, the court said Nersesian wrongly asked the jury to punish the Imperial Palace for not making substantial charitable contributions despite being a highly profitable corporation. He said the casino gave $3,026 to charity despite making $7 million.

The court said Nersesian violated the so-called “golden rule” by asking jurors to place themselves in the position of Grosjean. And the Imperial Palace claimed Nersesian cried and brought his personal feelings into the case during his presentation.

The court said professional conduct standards prohibit an attorney from expressing personal opinions regarding the justness of a cause.

Douglas said “this misconduct in this matter is so egregious as to warrant a new trial on punitive damages.”

Never heard of the golden rule as applied to court. I think they made that up. But literally crying? Sounds like a Creepy tactic. That certainly is egregious. I'd interpret it as violating standards of decorum, which is a violation of professional conduct. I've listened to Narcessian talk, and listened to Flash sing his praises. Norm is to T3 as Narcessian is to Flash. I'm not a big fan. He'd be the guy I'd call because I don't know who else I'd call, not because he's God.

Get his name right, failed lawyer. So it's apparently ok for a lawyer to lie his ass off in court but it's not ok to cry?... sumthin wrong there somewhere.

He's not stuttering on purpose. Narcissism is fake crying like Creepy does. And no, it's not OK to lie, it's OK to have a different version of the truth.

This is why lawyers are such hypocrites... and why so many become politicians.

    From the ABA -
Probably the best known of the forbidden arguments, the Golden Rule argument is an improper appeal to sympathy that occurs when a lawyer asks the jurors to place themselves "in the shoes of" the client.

It's an emotional supplication to the jury when they know their legal claim is very flimsy. A legal dirty trick.

The truth is uncompromising. It is unassailable and requires no interpretation.

Truth is often a matter of opinion in a court house. A lawyer's job is to...

arc, arch, bow, buckle, contort, crouch, curve, deflect, diverge, flex, incline, incurvate, lean, stoop, swerve, turn, twist, veer, warp
and bend... the truth. Bozo was good at that.

Hmm. I remember Rule 3.4. Don't remember the Golden Rule. Either way, I doubt the record had much to say until the Creepy fuck started fake crying.

I don't think lawyers lie any more than anyone else. They don't follow group think, and back up their position. Ethics is probably a problem.
