    Default New Cryptocurrency- ShadowCash

    http://shadow.cash

This coin looks like it has everything- 2% proof-of-stake inflation, full anonymity, data and comments can be sent anonymously through wallet too. I'm stocking up!

Anybody else have any favorite coins?

What do you mean "we?" I would never waste my ShadowCash on drugs. Guns and whores, man.

Seriously I think prostitution will be the ultimate application for crypto. You can do the money part of the transaction anonymously and when she walks into the hotel room, you can just get busy. No money, no arrest.

Shadowcash is flying high! Now worth about 3 times what it was when I started this thread.

New wallet out today, anonymity of transactions has been tested and proven (this is a first), global anonymous marketplace should be online in a few weeks.

Get it while you can. http://www.aboutshadow.com

    (Disclaimer: I hold Shadowcash.)

Anthem Vault is a gold backed crypto-currency and it's decentralized as well. If ShadowCash was gold backed, it would generate more serious interest.

Only problem is it can't be both backed by anything and decentralized at the same time. Somebody has to have the keys to the gold vault, and that's the weak link. With a true cryptocurrency the coins exist only on a distributed blockchain, everybody in the world has the same blockchain so there is no central point to attack.

Once the Shadow Market is running all the product listings will also be globally distributed; no one will have any control over what is listed so unlike Silk Road et al. there will be no one to raid.

What portion of your net worth do you have invested in this project? I notice SC"s public interest quotient is rated at 30%. Litecoin is much higher at 70% and trading at $7.00. With the coming October announcement of doomsday currency, everyone should be thinking about crypto-currencies.

I own 17000 SDC which is about 0.28% of the total supply. They're worth about 15 cents each now, but if they do become the standard for underground untraceable transactions I predict they will be worth $1000-$10000 in the future.

Litecoin is OK but it doesn't offer any real advantage over Bitcoin. The problem with non-proof-of-stake currencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin is that they are dependent on mining to secure the network. Most mining is done in China already and once the next Bitcoin halving happens next year legitimate mining will be unaffordable because it requires a lot of electricity and that can only be paid for in fiat. So it will only be worthwhile for corrupt and government-allied miners. With the proof-of-stake currencies like ShadowCash (and Peercoin) the network is secured by the coins themselves in the owners' wallets so in order to corrupt the blockchain you would have to buy up 51% of the coins yourself which would be outrageously expensive, and then they would be worthless so no one will do it.

Is there another way to buy ShadowCash instead of with bitcoins? I'm thinking about putting $20K into it.

Wow that's a lot! I wouldn't tell anyone to do that, on any altcoin. Proper bet sizing, you know.

There aren't any formal fiat-to-SDC exchanges yet, everybody just buys BTC and exchanges for whatever coin they want. If you have a local guy who sells BTC for dollars he will probably get SDC for you too for the same commission, if you want.

Just think - 20k in BC in early 2013 would now be worth $3.5M.
